Diallyldimethylammonium Chloride(DADMAC) Storage Method

The chemical formula of Diallyldimethylammonium Chloride (DMDAAC) is C8H16NCl, with a molecular weight of 161.67. It is a colorless to light yellow transparent liquid at room temperature, easily soluble in water, and contains double bonds and quaternary ammonium groups in its molecular structure. It has active chemical properties and good polymerization properties. In the field of water treatment, as a cationic monomer, it can copolymerize with other monomers to form a high molecular flocculant, effectively removing suspended matter, colloids and organic matter in water; in the papermaking industry, it can be used for paper reinforcement and retention and filtration, improving paper quality and production efficiency; in oilfield chemicals, it is used in drilling fluids, completion fluids, etc., to play a role in thickening and reducing filtration loss; it can also be used in the textile printing and dyeing industry as an antistatic agent and dyeing auxiliary.

Storage method: It should be stored in a cool, ventilated warehouse, away from fire and heat sources, and prevent direct sunlight. The storage temperature should not exceed 30°C, and the container should be kept sealed. Because it has a certain corrosiveness, it should be avoided from contact with oxidants and alkalis. It is not suitable for large-scale storage or long-term storage. The storage area should be equipped with fire-fighting equipment and leakage emergency treatment equipment of corresponding types and quantities. If stored for a long time, polymerization may occur, affecting product quality, so the storage situation should be checked regularly.

Operation method: Operators need to undergo special training and strictly abide by the operating procedures. It is recommended to wear a self-priming filter gas mask (full-face mask), wear rubber acid-resistant and alkali-resistant clothing, wear rubber acid-resistant and alkali-resistant gloves, and take protective measures. When handling, load and unload gently to prevent damage to the packaging and containers. During use, avoid generating dust and smoke to prevent leakage into the air in the workplace. The contact parts of the body should be cleaned in time after operation. Smoking, eating and drinking are strictly prohibited in the workplace. If leakage occurs, quickly evacuate people from the leakage contaminated area to a safe area and isolate it, strictly restrict entry and exit, and cut off the fire source. It is recommended that emergency response personnel wear self-contained positive pressure respirators and acid- and alkali-resistant work clothes, and do not directly contact the leaked material. Cut off the source of the leak as much as possible to prevent it from flowing into sewers, drainage ditches and other restricted spaces. Small leaks can be mixed with sand, dry lime or soda ash. Large leaks require building dikes or digging pits to contain them, and use pumps to transfer them to tank trucks or special collectors for recycling or transportation to waste treatment sites for disposal.
